I was over the moon for OPI’s Suede polishes a few years back and just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see how Julep’s Suede finish polishes measured up!
For the first time in a long time I ended up sticking with my normal style: American Beauty. My box included 3 individually wrapped nail polish remover pads, Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting, and 2 suede finish polishes: Amber and Brit.
Now, usually I post my boxes before I’ve had to try every product – but this time I’ve tried and loved every single one. I’ll be doing full polish reviews of Amber and Brit over on The Daily Varnish. I have oodles to say about the products in this box as well as a quick run down of the new Julep Jules reward program so I’d love it if you clicked below to keep reading!
The Polishes: Amber and Brit
The first thing I noticed was unlike the October polishes – which had the style names on the labels -these do not. I really liked that improvement.
I don’t want to spoil my review – but I am LOVING these polishes!
Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting
Here is a shot from the label – I agree with every word. I’m swooning over this lotion.
Look! It actually looks just like frosting!
Well done, Julep. It smells wonderful. I don’t usually go wild over citrus – but pink grapefruit is my exception. The Body Frosting is very moisturizing and easy to apply – no greasy feeling afterwards – I hope they continue to make Frosting in different flavors!
On the Julep website this retails for $18.00 ($14.00 for Mavens). Considering the size – that is a bit beyond my budget but I’ll enjoy it while it lasts!
One-Step Polish Remover Pad
Each package contains one pad. I was wearing Brit before I started this post and used one pad and it removed all of my polish without a hitch. I was unable to find these on the Julep website – so I’m going to assume they’re just including them in boxes for now.
New Jules System & The Missing Add on
Some of you may know that Julep has switched over to a reward point system using Jules as the currency. If you’d like to read about it in detail, Julep has a lovely outline of the program here.
Basically, each person you refer earns 1000 Jules. You can earn Jules by making purchases and receiving your Maven box each month. Once you hit 2,000 Jules – you have earned a free monthly box! You can use points for add-ons as well (A polish add on is 750 Jules).
This leads me into the case of the missing polish! I was certain I’d ordered an add-on this go around, but until I actually went through my point transaction I couldn’t be sure – but I did, and it didn’t come in my box. I used the Customer contact form and heard back within 2 days and just got a shipping confirmation that my extra polish is headed to Virginia.
Best I can tell Julep is stepping it up in the customer service department and I couldn’t be more pleased.
