Birchbox: September 2012

A few months ago I decided to try out a Birchbox subscription. I love trying new products so I figured it’d be perfect for me.

All in all, I’ve been pretty pleased over the last few months – though I swore after the disappointing contents of the August box I was going to cancel. It just so happens that I forgot to cancel and I’m glad because I’m enjoying my September goodies.

This month’s box included:

twistband – Hair Tie – I absolutely love this type of hair tie. A fun step up from your typical hair elastics and great way to add some pep to your pony! I’ll definitely be ordering a set of these ($18 for a set of 12).

kate spade new york – Twirl I always give the perfume samples to my sister because she tires of perfume quickly. The description reads: a blend of fruity and floral notes, this modern classic feels joyful and carefree (full size retails for $18-$80).

21 Drops – Focus Aromatherapy Blend: Stay Sharp with this mind-clearing blend of rosemary and peppermint essential oils. Apply to pulse points and breathe deep.

This may be my Birchbox Favorite! I’m a huge fan of aromatherapy. This smells so soothing and it really does help me get back on track. I’ve been keeping it in my desk at work and I apply as directed whenever I’m feeling a little unfocused or stressed.

Color Club – Status Uptade/Update – I’m assuming Uptade is a misprint and my label should actually read Update. I love this polish. I’ll be doing a full review of this polish on The Daily Varnish this weekend!

tili plastic bag: This is cute (you may have missed it in the background of my picture) but not something I see myself purchasing. I feel like a ziplock bag would suffice for anything I’d use it for. I thought about maybe using it for gifting purposes, but let’s be honest – I’m not going to give a gift in a plastic bag. But if it’s your thing, you can get packs of 9-12 for $8.49-$9.49.

WEI to go – Sleep Over Kit: I haven’t tried this yet, but I’m really excited to. It’s currently living in my purse! It’s cute! Wash away dirt and debris with the camellia oil-infused gel cleanser, then perfect your skin with the moisturizing face tint. Full size is $19.

Already a Birchboxer? Looking to subscribe? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

  1. I’m stuck on the waitlist! :c I’ve been waiting for a subscription for a few months now. So jealous!

I’d really like to try a Birchbox subscription but I’m not sure it would be worth it (for me). My beauty budget is pretty small and I spend most if it on nail polishes. But maybe it’s time for me to expand my horizons and try one of these…

    • That’s kind of how I was. I wanted to try some new higher end products but I couldn’t afford to just buy them outright…just to try new things. I think it’s worth a try if that’s your plan :)
