When I first stumbled upon sneakpeeq, I instantly fell in love with it – pop up boutiques in three many categories: Living, Style, and Beauty. You can earn badges for referring friends, for peeqing at prices, or just browsing the site. The badges can earn you discounts and other rewards: $10 off here, free shipping there… What initially got me interested was a deal for a free scarf – it was super cute and I thought oh hey why not. I continued on my happy peeq-ing way.
I placed three orders from sneakpeeq. The first was of course for my free scarf which I ordered on February 16th. There was a notification that there was such a high demand that there would be a delay in shipping. That was fine by me – who am I to fret over something free? It finally came in late April (2 months later), it was the ugliest scarf I’ve ever seen (but again – free – so we’ll continue on) and it was mailed very simply inside a plain brown envelope – no padding, but it didn’t need it so no big deal. (It’s worth noting at this point that according to the website, this order is still “processing.”)
On to my second order! One night I had a $10 off badge and a free shipping badge about to expire so I browsed through the site, there was nothing I really wanted but I did find some charms that I figured could use for something and after my badges, they were free. I ordered those on March 1st, and they arrived on April 16th (my account says this order is also still processing) – 6 weeks? Well okay… still, it was no money out of my pocket. They were packaged in the same brown envelope, no padding or bubble wrap.
Onward! On March 14th, I saw the CUTEST pair of earrings (I posted them here on Pinterest). I was so excited. Well, I pay very close attention to my bank account and noticed I hadn’t been charged in March… or April… or May. Finally in early/mid June I saw the charge and honestly and sadly by now I’d forgotten about the earrings since it’d been three full months since I’d ordered them. So I checked my mail every day… but sadly there were no brown envelopes (I figured by this point if they hadn’t properly packaged things to date, why would they this time?).
5 days ago, I decided to email customer support to try and figure out what the deal was – maybe they’d gotten lost in the mail (for once the status on this order says shipped!). But, I’ve yet to hear back from them….
I’m not sure what I’ll do at this point. It’s really quite a shame because the company has a lot of things going for them – like I said I was instantly addicted to the site. But my experience has been nothing sort of horrible…
So… has anyone else tried sneakpeeq.com with better results? Any other companies that seemed awesome and turned out to be awful? Let me know in the comments!
UPDATE: I finally received a response – check below the jump to read it. I’ve bolded the most amusing parts.
Hi Catherine,
Apologies for the delayed response, your email was caught up in our spam folder. We also must apologies (no need for proper grammar!) for the mix up with this order! After further investigation it looks like you were incorrectly charged for this order. The order should have been cancelled as the vendor had not sent us the proper units for fulfillment (you should have received a notice about this). In June, we changed payment processors and our old processor settled a batch of orders that were not charged and your (my what?) got mixed into that bath (why was there a bath involved!?!?!) by mistake.
We can still issue you a refund for this order however we will not be able to do it to your old card. The reason for this is again because we switched processors, we no longer have the ability to refund transactions that were placed before June. If you’d like a refund we can either credit your sneakpeeq account (LOL, no.) for the purchase price or send you a check. Please let us know what option you prefer and we’ll make it happen. (I hope my check doesn’t get mixed up in the bath!)
If you prefer a check, please be sure to let us know you current mailing address.
Once again, our apologies for the mix-up. We thank you for your patience and for playing sneakpeeq! We’ve placed a one time free shipping badge into your account for the inconvenience.
Thanks again!
Finally, my relationship with Sneakpeeq is coming to an end. I’ve never been so happy.

I have never heard of this site before (probably another addiction I don’t need haha) sure hope they respond to you and get things figured out

I would say, if you don’t hear from them, challenge the charge on your card. You have up to 6 months from the time of being charged to challenge it.
I just placed a order with this company last week, and then after I placed the order noticed horrible reviews for them all over the web. I’m nervous because I spent quiet a bit of money. I’m hoping for a more positive experience from all the reviews I read since they won’t issue refunds (only credits). I seriously have not read one thing positive. I wonder how they stay in business with such a horrible reputation?
I have no idea. Since I hadn’t heard back from them from my July 12th email, I finally called them on Friday – the customer service guy sounded like he’d rather be doing anything else. He told me that according to his information it’d shipped. I was like well.. obviously… he said he’d have to get in touch their shipping company (?) then they’d be in touch.
I really hope other people have a better experience because I think the site is just SO cute. Badges, peeqing – it’s all so much fun. It has a lot of potential but….. well…you have to be more than fun and cute to be a good company.
I wish you luck with your experience – I’d love for you to let me know how it goes. Hopefully your order will come before 4.5 months and counting…
After what I read consider yourself lucky you got to talk to someone. I also read that sneakpeeq customer service was worthless, and that people have been hung up on, and emails go unanswered. Your right about this company having buge potential, but your employees can make or break you. Waiting two months (or longer) for a order or not following through with free gives is bad business and unacceptable. Like I said I don’t know how this business is even open after what I’ve read. I can’t say anything negative myself since I only placed my first order last week. But I can say this, if I had seen the reviews first I would have never placed a order.
I do hope maybe you’ll have a better experience. I’ll update this post once they (fail to) contact me.
Finally got a response! Updated the post to include it.
Take the check! Really why would you want a credit to a place that ships your products only when they feel like it (or not at all), plus has horrible customer service. I’d stay on their backs until you got your money back, or you may not get it. My order status for the past two weeks has said processing. I get how they work but the shipping times are unreasonable, and people not getting their free gifts is bad business. I’m suppose to get a free bracelet but from the reviews I’ve read on ripoffreports.com I won’t be holding my breath. But I better get the merchandise I was charged for. I’m giving them two more weeks before I email them any complaints.
*Huge Potential….sorry typing on a phone.
Why do companies try to pull the wool over someone’s eyes and then expect them to not figure it out?!?
I have no idea. It’s a shame.
I joined when they offered the free pearl ring. It took forever to arrive and I think I got lucky because my ring is perfect. My next order was the real techniques The very core Brush set. I can’t remember how long it took to arrive but I think it was about 3 weeks.
Sounds like you got luckier than I did! A free pearl ring… I should have joined then instead of the free scarf!
I ordered my first product a few months ago. They sent me the wrong product (a different color than listed in the one I ordered, the color they sent me was its own listing) and I emailed over a dozen times over the course of two months and the customer service was non responsive…. 10+ emails and I heard back once.
I stupidly ordered something else from the site thinking the price was too good and maybe the first issue was an isolated occurrence. WRONG! I received my second order today (a month after ordering) and its the wrong item!!! its an electronic item this time and the site said i was purchasing the newest model but I received the old old model…. seriously? the included items and product specs of the item i received don’t even match the sneakpeeq description because the one they sent is so out of date… WTF?!? I don’t know what to do because Ive spent a lot of money and all Ive gotten is a ton of headache!
It’s really just a shame. I’ve said over and over that I live the concept. Hey just seem to e completely unable to follow through. I’m sorry you’ve had so much trouble but thank you for sharing it here. Hopefully other people won’t make the same mistake we did!
Oh my I wish i had read your review before I got duped with a Diamond Candle Order.. I paid on Oct 11th and recieved one of the two candles I ordered on Oct 30th… the other was I guess sent to saturn. I emailed the company (because the phone number only gets you a recorded response) (maybe you have a better number than I, if so don’t be stingy) and I got a response that said that I should have gotten the candle but I would need to contact Diamond candles if I wanted to know where my order was… that being said… two more emails to sneak peeq and two to Diamond Candles and NOOOOO answers.. I guess I will have to dispute the charge… Grrrrr
Definitely dispute the charge – it’s just not worth all the time I spent…
I’m sorry you had a bad experience, but thank you for sharing your experience here -hopefully other people will come across this page and be spared..
